Horizon’s Edge Counseling was founded by Roxanne Furtwangler, LPC, LMAC-T and Megan Sleeper, LPC, CCTP; two licensed clinicians who share a deep commitment to helping people feel understood, supported, and empowered in their healing.

Together, we bring a range of clinical experience working with individuals, couples, and families navigating anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. But more importantly, we bring a grounded, compassionate presence to the therapy room, because we know that meaningful change starts with feeling safe and truly heard.

We’ve both seen how overwhelming it can feel when relationships are strained, when parenting feels heavier than expected, or when life takes an unexpected turn, and how powerful it is to have the right support during those moments. That understanding is what continues to shape the way we show up for our clients every day.

At Horizon’s Edge, our work is guided by a simple belief: therapy should never feel one-size-fits-all. Every person and every relationship has its own story, its own challenges, and its own path forward. We take the time to listen, build trust, and tailor our approach to meet your unique emotional, relational, and developmental needs.

We’re proud to serve the Johnson County community by offering care that is thoughtful, personalized, and rooted in genuine connection.

Who we serve

At Horizon’s Edge Counseling, we meet our clients where they are, with compassion, clinical insight, and a deep respect for their lived experiences. We work with individuals, couples, and families navigating emotional, relational, and behavioral challenges, offering support that is both evidence-based and genuinely human.

Our clients often come to us feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of how to move forward. Some are working through long-standing concerns like anxiety, trauma, or patterns in relationships. Others are navigating life transitions, like becoming new parents, facing changes in their relationships, or adjusting to unexpected challenges that feel difficult to manage alone.

We also support couples who feel disconnected or caught in cycles of conflict, as well as foster and adoptive families working to build attachment, trust, and a strong sense of belonging.

No matter what brings you in, our goal is to create a space that feels safe, supportive, and free of judgment, where you can begin to make sense of what you’re experiencing and move toward meaningful, lasting change.
