Moving Into July: You Don’t Have to Carry Everything Alone
As June comes to an end, I keep thinking about how many people are quietly carrying more than anyone realizes.
Stress.
Trauma.
Burnout.
Grief.
Anxiety.
Loneliness.
Pressure.
Exhaustion.
And yet so many still wake up every day and keep going.
That resilience matters.
But so does support.
I think many people learned early that needing help was weakness.
That emotions were burdensome.
That vulnerability was dangerous.
So they became self-sufficient.
Independence.
Helpful to everyone else.
But deeply uncomfortable receiving care themselves.
The problem with carrying everything alone is that eventually the weight catches up with you.
Sometimes emotionally.
Sometimes physically.
Sometimes relationally.
The nervous system was never designed to operate in constant isolation.
Humans heal best in safe connection.
One of the most healing things a person can experience is being able to say:
‘I am struggling.’
Without shame.
Without apologizing.
Without feeling like they’ve failed.
As we move into July, I hope more people begin allowing themselves to seek support before they completely fall apart.
You do not have to earn rest.
You do not have to earn care.
You do not have to hit rock bottom before you deserve help.
And you certainly do not have to carry everything by yourself.
